A three-day Cooperative Awareness Programme was inaugurated on Monday at the Circuit House, Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh. The programme is being organised by the Department of Cooperation, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, with a focus on enabling LAMPS to undertake activities beyond thrift and credit.
Deputy Commissioner Namsai, C.R. Khampa, inaugurated the programme as Chief Guest and stressed the need to strengthen grassroots understanding of cooperative principles in line with the vision of “Sahkar se Samriddhi”. He highlighted the role of cooperatives in improving livelihoods, citing the district’s progress in dairy and fishery sectors, including the recent registration of a fishery cooperative society.
Gyati Kobing, DRCS-cum-Nodal Officer (IYC), outlined the national roadmap for cooperative development and announced a Cooperative Sammelan at Pasighat on February 13–14.
The programme includes technical sessions, capacity building, and field visits to LAMPS, aiming to promote sustainable and diversified cooperative growth.
