Strengthening cooperative-based farm collectives in Telangana, equity grants of Rs 15 lakh each were distributed on December 29, 2025, to 12 Primary Agricultural Credit Society–Farmer Producer Organisations (PACS–FPOs) formed this year. The programme was inaugurated by Tummala Nageswara Rao, Minister for Agriculture, Marketing, Cooperation, Handlooms & Textiles, Government of Telangana.
The release letters and cheques were handed over amid senior dignitaries including Mettu Sai Kumar, Chairman, Telangana Fisheries Federation; Konduru Ravinder Rao, Chairman, NAFSCOB; Chinmayi Kumar, Regional Director, RBI; Uday Bhaskar, CGM, NABARD; and Shardul Jadhva, Regional Director, National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), alongside officials from the Telangana Cooperation Department and district cooperative officers.
The equity support, aligned with the government’s broader initiative to convert PACS into viable FPOs, is part of efforts in which NCDC plays a pivotal role by promoting and financing the formation and strengthening of FPOs and PACS under the Central Sector Scheme for farmer organisations.
As an implementing agency, NCDC provides capacity building, financial assistance and linkages to markets, enabling newly formed FPOs to become economically sustainable and better serve farming communities.
