As part of the two-day International Conference of the Urban Cooperative Credit Sector under Co-op Kumbh 2025, Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, chaired a high-level session on “Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Transformation in Cooperative Banking.”
The session, held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, brought together eminent leaders, policymakers, and technology experts from the cooperative sector.
In his address, Bansal highlighted the transformative role of digitalization and artificial intelligence in strengthening the cooperative banking ecosystem.
He emphasized that technology adoption is not just a necessity but a strategic enabler for transparency, efficiency, and member-centric growth in cooperatives.
The session witnessed active participation and insightful deliberations on how emerging technologies can modernize credit delivery, enhance risk management, improve governance, and drive financial inclusion through cooperative banks.
Bansal urged cooperative institutions to embrace digital innovation responsibly and collaboratively, ensuring that technology serves as a bridge- not a barrier- in empowering members across rural and urban India.
The session formed one of the key highlights of Co-op Kumbh 2025’s focus on future-ready cooperatives.
