Vigilance and Anti-Corruption police have filed a case against the Managing Director of Kannyakumar District Cooperative Spinning Mills for his alleged involvement in the procurement of sub-standard gearboxes for defunct windmills, reports Hindu.
The spinning mills have not been functioning for a long time due to technical problems.
Sources say the scam came to light when an inquiry found that the managing director of the cooperative mills swindled a huge amount of money by procuring sub-standard gearboxes.
