In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said, “NCDC has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 2000.11 crore and released financial assistance of Rs 1300.11 crore to cooperatives under the Swayam Shakti Sahakar Scheme”.
‘National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), a statutory corporation under the administrative control of the Ministry of Cooperation, implements Swayam Shakti Sahakar Yojana for extending financial assistance to eligible Credit Cooperatives for onward lending of working capital loan or term loans to women SHGs”, he added.
Shah further added, the objectives of the Scheme are, access to affordable cost-effective reliable financial services to the poor; facilitating women SHGs to access adequate bank credit to undertake common/collective socio-economic activities; promotion of sustainable livelihood.
