A delegation from the Federation of Multi-State Cooperative Credit Societies, led by its President Suresh Wabale, called on VAMNICOM Director Dr. Suvakant Mohanty onFriday to discuss the recently announced National Cooperative Policy 2025 and other key issues concerning the cooperative movement.
During the meeting, Dr. Mohanty highlighted several initiatives undertaken by VAMNICOM, including the launch of a special MBA programme for the cooperative sector and ongoing efforts to document measures for cooperative development.
He underscored the policy’s emphasis on encouraging cooperatives to diversify into non-credit sectors such as agriculture, dairy, and fisheries. He also stressed
VAMNICOM’s commitment to providing practical training to employees and directors of cooperative institutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness. The Federation’s Board of Directors also held a special meeting at VAMNICOM, where policy matters and strategies for strengthening the cooperative sector were discussed in depth.
The meeting also paid tribute to the sacrifices of visionary leaders who laid the foundation of India’s cooperative movement. The meeting was attended by Federation Vice President Prof. Dr. V. S. Akalkote Patil,Directors Ajinath Hajare, Magaraj Rathi, Narayan Khandekar, Adv. S. S. Gadge,Ashok Owhol, Sukumar Anna Patil and others.
