Surat based Sumul Dairy marked International Women’s Day with a grand celebration at its Bajipura Chilling Center, honoring the remarkable contributions of women in the dairy and cooperative sectors.
The event witnessed the presence of Mansinhbhai Patel, Chairman of Sumul Dairy; Dr. Kanaiyalal Jain from Poshika Charitable Trust, Vyara; Kamleshbhai Patel, a farmer; R.C. Patel, Dr. Pradeepbhai Patel, Dr. Javia, Incharge of the Bajipura Chilling Center. Women employees of Sumul Dairy and self-help group resource persons also actively participated in the celebration.
The event featured discussions on women’s empowerment, health awareness, and sustainable farming. Special emphasis was placed on the benefits of biogas and carbon credits in reducing emissions and fostering sustainability.
Addressing the gathering, Mansinhbhai Patel underscored the significance of kitchen gardening for better nutrition and announced expanded health coverage for 2.5 lakh cooperative members under the Pradhan Mantri Bima Yojana.
He also stressed the need for water conservation and rainwater harvesting as key priorities for sustainable development.
The celebration concluded with heartfelt wishes for International Women’s Day and a strong call for increased participation of women in cooperative and sustainability initiatives.
