Vedanta Aluminium has partnered with Subhalaxmi Cooperative to establish a unique women-led fly ash brick manufacturing unit in Jharsuguda, Odisha, media reports say.
The facility, powered by free fly ash from Vedanta’s aluminium plant, is set to produce over one crore bricks annually, creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for over 5,000 women.
This project marks a significant step in turning industrial by-products into eco-friendly construction materials, while enabling rural women to lead change.
Subhalaxmi Cooperative, with its 440+ Self Help Groups, views the initiative as a pathway to economic independence and sustainable development in the region.
