Karnataka’s Sri Tyagaraja Cooperative Bank launched its new ‘Aisiri Samruddhi’ scheme during the valedictory ceremony of the All-India Cooperative Week at the APS College Auditorium on Thursday.
The scheme was formally inaugurated by Dr. K.M. Vasundhara, Managing Director of LIDKAR.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vasundhara highlighted the significant role of women in India’s economic progress. She said that despite global economic challenges, India has maintained financial stability due to active economic participation by women-from small household purchases to major investments.
Presiding over the event, MLA Ravi Subramanya said that the cooperative movement continues to strengthen India’s economic foundation. He noted that cooperative societies, banks and financial institutions in rural areas have played a vital role in ensuring economic resilience at a time when major global economies are experiencing slowdowns.
Bank President Dr. M.R. Venkatesh said the cooperative sector offers wide opportunities for youth and stressed the need to introduce cooperative education in school curricula to attract young minds.
Journalist Vinayak Bhat, APS Educational Institutions Secretary A. Prakash and others attended the programme.
