A special programme and deliberation session on the formulation of Maharashtra’s new Cooperative Policy was successfully organised in Nagpur on Sunday, drawing an overwhelming response from stakeholders across the cooperative sector.
The session was addressed by Vidyadhar Anaskar, Administrator of the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank and Member of the State Cooperative Policy High-Level Committee; Santosh Patil, Additional Registrar, Cooperation Department and Joint Secretary, Government of Maharashtra; and Vivek Jugade, Maharashtra State General Secretary of Sahkar Bharati and Member of the High-Level Committee.
The speakers stated that the forthcoming policy would further strengthen the cooperative movement in the state.
Smt. Nilimatai Bawane, Chairperson of Dharampeth Mahila Multi-State Cooperative Society, attended the programme. Experts and experienced professionals from the cooperative sector, along with office-bearers and directors of various cooperative institutions, participated in large numbers and shared several valuable suggestions during the discussion.
In line with the Central Government’s new Cooperative Policy, Maharashtra is in the process of framing its own renewed State Cooperative Policy.
Under the guidance of Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, a High-Level Committee has been constituted to finalise the policy. As part of this process, the Nagpur discussion session was held to deliberate on key aspects of the proposed policy.
