Responding to the Prime Minister’s call of devising secondary means of earning for farmers co-op titan GCMMF has decided to bring out its own branded honey soon.
Talking to Indian Cooperative GCMMF MD R S Sodhi said “we would use our vast agri-value chain of lakhs of milk producer members to increase beekeeping to source natural honey.”
According to Sodhi, Amul would take advantage of a modern honey testing facility established by NDDB in Anand. The push for bee farming could be an income generating initiative as envisioned by PM, said Sodhi.
In recent times, Amul has gone for a wide range of product diversification including different range of milks to fight Corona.
