Media reports given the impending presidential poll in the US, the Trump administration may pressure New Delhi to offer concessions to America in agriculture that may adversely impact the dairy sector in India.
GCMMF Managing Director RS Sodhi said as much while speaking at a webinar on India-US trade deal organized by Third World Network.
According to Sodhi, the US subsidizes its dairy sector to the tune of 28 billion dollar and this denies Indian farmers’ required capacity to confront competition.
