In a landmark development for cooperative banking, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu jointly laid the foundation stone of the Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Bank (APCOB) for its new Head Office last week in Amaravati.
The ceremony, held at Rayapudi village within the State capital’s designated financial hub, also marked the foundation laying for 15 other banks, reflecting the State’s vision of Amaravati as a modern, integrated financial city.
Spread over 0.495 acres, the new APCOB headquarters is set to become a central node in Amaravati’s emerging financial ecosystem, alongside national banks, insurance firms, and other financial institutions.
Ganni Veeranjaneyulu, Person-in-Charge of APCOB, described the occasion as a “new beginning,” highlighting the importance of a consolidated headquarters and training complex to enhance operational efficiency, professional identity, and customer service across Andhra Pradesh.
Under an MoU with APIIC, APCOB will now move forward with detailed architectural and civil works to build a modern Head Office, reinforcing its role in cooperative banking leadership, training, and institutional development. For stakeholders and customers, the event signifies APCOB’s firm commitment to establishing a prestigious and lasting presence at the heart of the State capital.
