ANI reports Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Radha Mohan Singh will felicitate a 35 year old Mahan Borah from Meleng Kathgaon of Jorhat, Assam who has long been using new ideas and methods in preserving local rice varieties in his area.
Meleng Kathgaon of Jorhat does all his experiments in his 2 bighas of land. Borah has also gathered all kinds of indigenous rice varieties from the north east and cloned their seeds.
The Union Minister will confer on him the Plant Genome Savior Farmers award for his invaluable contributions.
