Addressing recently a chamber of commerce meeting in Kolkata, Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh cataloged his ministry’s achievements such as issuing 10 crore soil health cards to farmers thereby enabling them to save urea usage by 8-10 percent, reports Business Line.
About 40 lakh-odd soil health cards have been issued in West Bengal alone, claimed the minister.
The minister also pointed out nearly 22.5 lakh hectares and counting of land have been brought under organic farming in recent years.
