Marking the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, the Cooperation Department handed over dividend cheques totaling Rs 1,30,41,500 to Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay). This amount represents the state’s share in various cooperative societies.
SIMFED contributed Rs 1,29,99,000, while West Pendam MPCS and Dentam MPCS added Rs 22,500 and Rs 20,000 respectively. The cheques were presented by the Chairman of SIMFED along with senior officials from the Cooperation Department.
The Chief Minister praised the cooperatives’ contribution to the state’s socio-economic growth and engaged in discussions on revitalizing Sikkim’s cooperative ecosystem.
