From July 1 to 6, 2025, the Sikkim Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. celebrated International Cooperation Week, following the Ministry of Cooperation’s directives. This aligned with the International Year of Cooperatives and the 4th Foundation Day of the Ministry.
The week featured key activities starting with the 5th Gwala Diwas on July 1, attended by state ministers, officials, and hundreds of dairy farmers. On July 3, staff led cleanliness drives at Union offices promoting hygiene.
A milk awareness and distribution campaign was held on July 4, educating parents and children about nutrition. The celebrations concluded on July 5 with a large tree plantation drive across Gangtok and Jorethang campuses, planting over 100 saplings alongside the Forest Department.
The Managing Director and senior officials actively participated, highlighting the Union’s dedication to sustainability and cooperative principles under the theme “Cooperatives: Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Solutions for a Better World.”
