Sanjeev Jain Sikka, Vice-President, Western Uttar Pradesh, BJP and Arijit Singh have been elected as the Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively of UP Consumer Cooperative Union Limited on Tuesday.
Sharing his reaction with Indian Cooperative Sikka said, “As I have been elected just a day ago, it’s too early to comment. Give me time I will respond to your queries but one thing I would like to tell you is that for the past several years Samajwadi Party has had their hold on the union and BJP leaders have just taken charge”.
The tenure of the managing committee ended on 20 February and due to the lockdown, the election of a new managing committee could not be held. After getting relaxation on the lockdown, the nominations were filed on 25 and on 29 June, the new managing committee was announced.
Other members of the managing committee include Pranatpal Singh, Suman Singh, Jai Kumar Singh, Chakrapani Awasthi, Harishankar, Shivnayak Verma, Yashpal Kesari, Vinod Kumar Mishra, Rajkumar Sharma, Radheshyam Rawat, Shakuntala Chauhan and Mohan Singh Yadav.
