A two-day Basic Training Programme on Cooperatives for newly registered cooperative societies was successfully kicked off on Monday at the Training Hall of the Sikkim State Cooperative Union (SICUN).
The inaugural session was chaired by Chairman, SICUN, Dr. Mangaljit Rai Ranasampang, in the presence of CEO Phadung Bhutia, Executive Officer Mrs. Indira Sharma, Principal JCTC Mrs. Dawala Bhutia and other officials.
Addressing the participants, the Chairman encouraged the trainees to make full use of the programme and strengthen their respective societies through improved governance, transparency and professional cooperative management practices. He emphasised the importance of capacity building for newly registered cooperatives to ensure sustainability and long-term growth.
He also invited the trainees to attend the upcoming Cooperative Conference to be held in Sikkim, which will be graced by the Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation, Government of India, Murlidhar Mohol.
Around 25 trainees from newly registered cooperative societies of Pakyong District participated in the programme, marking a proactive step toward strengthening the cooperative movement at the grassroots level.
