SICUN marks closing of 71st All India Cooperative Week

The Sikkim Cooperative Union (SICUN), in collaboration with the Cooperation Department, concluded the 71st All India Cooperative Week under the theme “Role of Cooperatives in Building Viksit Bharat” at its conference hall in Assam Lingzey.

Governor Om Prakash Mathur and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang’s messages were shared during the event. Cooperation Minister Arun Upreti emphasized grassroots cooperative awareness to uplift communities, pledging state government support for a sustainable cooperative ecosystem.

SICUN Chairman Dr. Mangal Jit Rai highlighted cooperatives’ role in economic growth, bridging rural-urban gaps, and boosting local products through SICUN’s web portal. Secretary Gloria Namchu outlined cooperative achievements and challenges.

The event included the launch of SICUN’s web portal, felicitation ceremonies, and membership distribution, attended by officials and stakeholders.
