The Uttar Pradesh government has appointed Ajay Kumar Shukla, a 2001-batch IAS officer, as the new Principal Secretary of the Cooperation Department. He replaced Sourabh Babu in the key position.
The appointment is considered significant in view of the state government’s focus on strengthening the cooperative sector.
Ajay Kumar Shukla is an IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre and holds a B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering. Born on January 1, 1973, he brings with him over two decades of administrative experience across various departments.
The Cooperation Department plays a crucial role in overseeing cooperative institutions, including cooperative banks, credit societies, and other grassroots-level cooperatives across the state.
With Shukla’s appointment, the government is expected to further streamline policies and initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperative governance, improving financial health, and enhancing services to farmers and cooperative members across Uttar Pradesh.
