Shri Anna Mahotsav 2026 inaugurated in Gujarat

The “Shri Anna Mahotsav 2026,” organised by the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation Department of the Gujarat Government, was inaugurated at Akota Stadium with a focus on promoting millets and strengthening the agricultural economy.

The event was formally launched by Minister Manisha Vakil and Chief Whip of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly Balkrishna Shukla. The programme saw the presence of senior officials, party workers, and a large number of women participants.

The Mahotsav aims to encourage the cultivation and consumption of “Shri Anna” (millets), emphasising their nutritional benefits and role in sustainable agriculture. It also focuses on enhancing farmer income through value addition and improved market linkages under the cooperative framework.

The initiative reflects the state government’s continued efforts to strengthen rural livelihoods and promote sustainable, cooperative-driven agricultural growth.
