Shivkrupa Co-op hosts Third annual Marathon in Satara

Shivkrupa Cooperative Credit Society organized its third consecutive Shivkrupa Cooperative Marathon under the theme “One Run for Shivkrupa, Shivkrupa’s Run for Cooperation” at Satara recently. The event aims to promote physical fitness while linking spirituality and social well-being within the cooperative sector.

Dr. Kiran Sonawane, District Registrar, Mumbai Suburban, praised the marathon for sending a strong message of health and cooperation during the prize distribution ceremony. Retired Principal Dr. Yashwant Patne highlighted that such initiatives set a model for other cooperative institutions.

The marathon began at 6:30 AM from Shahu Stadium after the flag-off by dignitaries including Dr. Sonawane, Dr. Milind Shah, Dr. L.D. Kadam, and the founders of Shivkrupa Cooperative, Gorakh Chavan and Chandrakant Wanjari. Around 1,500 participants, including staff, members, and collection representatives, ran through the scenic route covering Karanje, Maula Odh, Medha Road, and back to Shahu Stadium.

Water stations, energy drinks, snacks, and first-aid facilities were provided along the route. Winners in different categories were felicitated by distinguished guests. In the adult male collection representative category, Yogesh Nimbalkar (18-30) and in the female category, Siddhi Lawand (18-30) secured first place. The marathon also included staff, members, and children participants across various age groups.

Shivkrupa Cooperative continues to promote health, community spirit, and trust among members, aiming to expand its integrated business to Rs 6,000 crore soon.
