The 72nd All India Cooperative Week 2025 was inaugurated in Goa on Friday by the Minister for Co-operation Subhash Shirodkar, at a state-level function held in Panaji.

The event was organised by the Department of Cooperation in collaboration with the Goa State Cooperative Union, NABARD, and the Goa State Cooperative Bank.

The programme witnessed the presence of several prominent leaders from the cooperative and banking sectors. RBI Central Board Director Satish Marathe, TJSB Bank Chairman Sharad Gangal, and many other distinguished guests attended the inauguration, highlighting the importance of the cooperative movement in strengthening grassroots economic development.

Senior government officials, including Secretary (Cooperation) Yatindra Maralkar, IAS, and Registrar of Cooperative Societies & Additional Secretary Ashutosh Apte, were also present on the occasion.

In keeping with the national celebrations, Cooperative Week is being observed across Goa from November 14 to 20, 2025. Throughout the week, the state will host a series of programmes focusing on strengthening cooperatives, promoting financial inclusion, empowering farmers and small entrepreneurs, and showcasing the achievements of the cooperative sector.

The dignitaries emphasized the significant role of cooperatives in Goa’s socio-economic development and reiterated the government’s commitment to expanding the cooperative network across the state.
