Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Amit Shah will hold a one-on-one interaction with drivers enrolled under the Bharat Taxi initiative at Maharashtra Bhawan in New Delhi today. The interaction, titled “Sahakar Samvad,” is part of the government’s outreach to strengthen cooperative-led livelihood initiatives.
Bharat Taxi is being promoted by Sahakari Taxi Private Limited and is gaining momentum ahead of its formal launch scheduled for February 5, 2026. The platform has been conceptualised as a cooperative-based alternative in the mobility sector, aimed at providing better earnings, transparency, and ownership to drivers.
Around 150 drivers associated with Bharat Taxi are expected to participate in the Sahakar Samvad. During the interaction, drivers will have the opportunity to directly communicate with the Union Minister, share their experiences, raise concerns, and discuss expectations from the cooperative taxi model.
The interaction underscores the Ministry of Cooperation’s focus on promoting cooperative enterprises in emerging sectors and ensuring that workers remain at the centre of economic growth initiatives.
