Shah proposes a National-Level Taxi Co-operative

Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah announced on Sunday that a national-level cooperative organization for taxi drivers will be established in the coming days. This initiative aims to provide drivers with better job security, fair wages, and structured benefits, following the model of ride-hailing platforms like Ola and Uber.

By leveraging the cooperative framework, this organization will ensure greater financial stability and welfare for drivers across India.

Amit Shah also emphasized the government’s commitment to expanding the cooperative sector into various essential services. This includes petrol pumps, gas distribution, ration shops, medicine stores, warehouses, water management, seed production, and organic farming.

The initiative will enable cooperative societies to play a crucial role in economic growth while ensuring affordable and accessible services for citizens.

With these developments, the government aims to strengthen India’s cooperative ecosystem, providing employment opportunities and fostering economic self-reliance across multiple industries.
