Seven Institutes get provisional affiliation with TSU

Seven prominent cooperative training and management institutes across the country have been granted provisional affiliation with Tribhuvan Sahkari University, Union Minister for Cooperation Amit Shah informed the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

In a written reply, Shah said the move is aimed at strengthening cooperative education, training and research in the country and building a robust institutional framework for the cooperative sector.

The institutes that have received provisional affiliation include the Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM) in Pune, Institute of Cooperative Management Jaipur in Rajasthan, and the Institute of Cooperative and Corporate Management, Research and Training (ICCMRT) in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

Other institutes include the Regional Institute of Cooperative Management Chandigarh, Mansinhbhai Institute of Dairy and Food Technology in Mehsana, Gujarat, Institute of Cooperative Management Imphal in Manipur, and the National Institute of Cooperative Management Gandhinagar in Gujarat.

According to the minister, the provisional affiliation of these institutions will help develop specialised academic programmes, training modules and research initiatives dedicated to cooperative management and development. It is also expected to create a stronger ecosystem for capacity building in the cooperative sector.

The establishment of Tribhuvan Sahkari University is part of the government’s broader efforts to create a dedicated national-level institution to promote cooperative education, leadership development and professional training for the rapidly expanding cooperative movement in India.
