School Children co-op in Patan!

school studentsIn a novel experiment, children in a school in Patan, Gujarat are managing a proper bank by themselves. The whole bank from clerk to manager is managed by them.

The little bankers have so far collected Rs 1.40 lakh as capital. The child bank functions just like any other bank.

The little account holders stand in a queue for transactions. By depositing minimum 5 rupees a child can open an account.

Since the bank has come into existence, pupils have stopped missing their annual holiday trip. In Gujarat, school children are taken on a holiday trip once a year.
