The multi-crore PMC bank scam has brought human miseries in its train in that the depositors are not able to withdraw their hard earned money. There are reports about some depositors taking the extreme step of even ending their lives. There is desperation among the depositors of the bank.
Meanwhile DNA reports the Supreme Court has refused to direct RBI not to put a restriction on withdrawal of money while hearing a petition filed by some of the depositors of the crisis-ridden bank.
Earlier, RBI had raised the withdrawal limit to Rs 40,000. RBI had in September put restrictions on withdrawing money following the revelation of massive financial mismanagement in the PMC bank. PMC Bank is a multi-state scheduled urban cooperative bank
