Saving due to Nano to help boost nation’s defense: Awasthi

Once the elections of five Directors and the Vice Chairman were over, IFFCO Managing Director Dr. U S Awasthi made some plain talking to the Board members. Sketching the gloomy global scenario, Awasthi exhorted the members to popularize Nano Urea calling it a savior not only for farmers but also for the defense and growth of the country.

Given the rising prices of commodities in the international market, it would be untenable for any country to continue to give subsidies. The govt is today giving Rs 1.5 lac crore of subsidy but the way urea prices are rising, it may have to soon dole out Rs 4 lac crores towards subsidy. Can it afford to do so?, asked Awasthi.

Referring to the Ukraine war, the MD said there is a shortage of oil, gas, nickel, Wheat, Soya, etc, leading to a situation of economic gloom in the world. Calling Nano as a savior of the situation, Dr. Awasthi said by the next year IFFCO would be ready to produce 80 crore
Nano Urea bottles, which means the country can save Rs 4 lac crore of subsidies. This money could be used for defense, infrastructure, and other areas, he underlined.

Saying that IFFCO is working hard on Nano DAP, Awasthi promised that it’s commercial production will begin from December and January. “ We have also acquired the rights to the Nano complex and will work on the same sooner than later”, he stated.

Taking a broad view of issues, Awasthi exhorted members to talk about Nano not only before farmers but also before the govt. “Use whatever resources you have- media or social media to popularize the idea of Nano”, said Awasthi.

IFFCO Director from Bihar Premchand Munshi seconded MD’s idea and asked his colleagues to use Facebook and Twitter to popularize Nano urea.
