Saraswat Bank alerts Customers on QR Code frauds
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Saraswat Bank has urged customers to remain cautious while using digital payment platforms, warning against rising fraud attempts involving QR codes and PIN requests. The advisory was issued on social media as part of Digital Payments Awareness Week, an initiative aimed at promoting safe digital transactions.

The bank clarified that QR codes or PINs should only be used when a person is making a payment. If someone asks customers to scan a QR code or enter their PIN for any other purpose, such as receiving money or verifying an account, it could be a potential fraud attempt.

Saraswat Bank advised users to always verify the authenticity of such requests before acting. The bank also encouraged customers to remain alert while using platforms like Unified Payments Interface to ensure the safety of their funds and prevent financial fraud.
