Sarang gets co-operation portfolio

Vishwas Sarang the NLCF Director who has been inducted in the Shivraj Ministry in Madhya Pradesh has been made Minister of state with the portfolio of cooperation given his long innings in the cooperative sector.

Governor Ram Naresh Yadav administered the oath of office and secrecy to the ministers at the Raj Bhawan lawns.

Those who were sworn in include Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya, Archana Chitnis, Rustam Singh and Om Prakash Dhurve (all cabinet rank) and Harsh Singh, Sanjay Pathak, Lalita Yadav, Vishwas Sarang and Surya Prakash Meena (all Minister of State rank). This is CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s first cabinet reshuffle since December 2013 when he was re-elected CM.

Former chief minister and current Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur and PWD Minister Sartaj Singh were asked to resign on Thursday ahead of the cabinet reshuffle that witnessed the induction of 9 new faces.

As reported earlier, Sarang’s father Kailash Sarang is held as a formidable BJP politician in the state. Vishwas himself has been two time MLA.
