Dileep Sanghani, Chairman of Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited, praised the enduring contribution of century-old cooperative institutions while addressing the “Sahkar Gaurav Samman–2026” programme organised by Sahakar Bharati in Amreli.
The event was organised to honour cooperative institutions that have completed 100 years of service and to mark 116 years of the Amreli District Central Cooperative Bank. Speaking on the occasion, Sanghani lauded these institutions for preserving the rich traditions of India’s cooperative movement and continuing to contribute to rural development and economic stability.
He noted that cooperatives have long served as pillars of community development, fostering collective growth and strengthening the economic fabric of rural India. According to him, the cooperative model promotes collaboration, social harmony and a sense of unity among communities.
Discussions during the programme also focused on strengthening cooperative activities in the national interest and expanding their reach across sectors. Sanghani emphasised that empowering cooperatives would further support farmers and rural communities while advancing inclusive and sustainable development.
Several cooperative leaders and dignitaries attended the programme, including regional and national office-bearers of Sahakar Bharati, along with representatives of cooperative institutions from Amreli district.
The event highlighted the continued relevance of the cooperative model in strengthening grassroots institutions and driving collective prosperity across rural India.
