In Ahmedabad, Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat addressed a guidance camp focused on cow-based natural agriculture, calling for greater adoption of eco-friendly farming methods.
The event highlighted the growing shift of the cooperative giant Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO)- under its Chairman Dileepbhai Sanghani- from traditional chemical fertilisers to promoting natural farming practices following national appeals from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sanghani, a former Gujarat agriculture minister and now at the helm of IFFCO, reinforced the cooperative’s commitment to sustainable agriculture, aligning with government initiatives to reduce reliance on external chemical inputs.
Governor Devvrat emphasised that cow-based natural farming not only revitalises soil health and reduces costs for farmers, but also resonates with the broader move towards “Atmanirbhar” agriculture. The camp thus symbolises a convergence of state leadership, cooperative action and grassroots practice in Gujarat’s push towards greener farming.
