Sampada first woman Chairperson of Kalyan Janata Sah Bank

In a significant development for the cooperative banking sector, Adv. Sampada Kulkarni has been elected unopposed as the Chairperson of Kalyan Janata Sahakari Bank (KJSB), becoming the first woman to head the bank.

Kulkarni, who previously served as a director on the board, brings with her extensive experience in cooperative governance and legal affairs. Her elevation marks a notable milestone in the bank’s leadership history.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Deshpande has been elected as the Vice-Chairman of the bank.

The appointments of the new office bearers have also received formal approval from the cooperative election authority under the Ministry of Cooperation.

Founded in 1973, Kalyan Janata Sahakari Bank is a multi-state cooperative bank with a network of 39 branches across Maharashtra. The bank currently has a total business mix exceeding Rs 5,000 crore, reflecting its strong presence in the urban cooperative banking sector.
