The meeting of the office bearers of over 48 purchase and sales cooperatives held at ICM, Dehradun last week was presided over by the Additional Registrar of State Cooperative Department Anand Shukla.
In future, these cooperatives will buy farmers’ produce at reasonable prices and supply them through online platforms like Amazon, Flipkart etc.
There is a huge demand for red rice, jhangora, hill pulses, ginger among the mountain people and these co-ops will do the marketing of these produce, according to the statement issued by the cooperative department.
The marketing will start from Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.
