NAFED, in collaboration with Bihar Art Theatre, recently organized a powerful nukkad-natak titled ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’ at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan, drawing strong public engagement and appreciation. The performance was part of the ongoing celebrations of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025.
The street play vividly depicted the everyday struggles, aspirations, and realities of farmers, highlighting how cooperative institutions play a transformative role in ensuring fair prices, timely payments, and access to essential agricultural services.
Through emotive performances, the artists showcased the importance of cooperatives in enabling farmers to market their produce-such as pulses, oilseeds, wheat, and other crops—without falling prey to middlemen.
Actors from Bihar Art Theatre portrayed how cooperatives like NAFED support farmers in procurement, storage, and distribution, ultimately boosting their income and strengthening rural livelihoods.
The play also emphasized the government’s growing focus on cooperative-driven development under the ‘Sahakar Se Samriddhi’ vision, reinforcing the crucial role of cooperatives in rural economic resilience.
