As of February 28, 2025, a total of Rs. 2,314.20 crore has been disbursed to 12,97,111 depositors of the Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies– Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. (Lucknow), Saharayn Universal Multipurpose Society Ltd. (Bhopal), Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. (Kolkata), and Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. (Hyderabad).

Following the Supreme Court order, the disbursement process is being supervised by Justice R. Subhash Reddy, former Supreme Court judge, with assistance from Amicus Curiae Gaurav Agarwal. The entire refund process is digital and paperless.
Applications submitted through the portal are being processed with proper identification and verification of identity and deposits. At present, payments of up to Rs. 50,000 per depositor are being disbursed through Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. The Supreme Court has extended the deadline for refund disbursement to Sahara depositors until December 31, 2025.
The total number of depositors in the four Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies stands at 5.42 lakh, with total deposits amounting to Rs. 1,13,504 crore. A large number of complaints have been received regarding the non-payment of these deposits.
