Sah Bharati offers to run Gaushalas through PACS in UP

Sahakar Bharati leader and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Nirman Sahakari Sangh Director Dr. Praveen Singh Jadaun met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday at his official residence in Lucknow and submitted a key proposal aimed at strengthening both cow protection and rural livelihoods.

Dr. Jadaun proposed that the management of gaushalas (cow shelters) be entrusted to Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS/B-PACS).

He emphasized that PACS, being deeply rooted at the grassroots, are closely connected to farmers and rural households. Involving them in gaushala management would not only generate local employment but also provide farmers with affordable organic manure from cow dung, promoting sustainable farming and improving soil fertility.

The proposal further highlighted women’s empowerment. Through PACS, rural women could engage in producing cow dung-based products such as incense sticks, diyas, fertilizer pellets, and energy briquettes, thereby becoming self-reliant while contributing to the rural economy.

On the occasion, Vimal Katiyar, Chairman of the UP Potato Marketing Cooperative Federation, also met the Chief Minister to discuss the challenges faced by potato growers.

He urged the government to ensure fair prices and strengthen marketing systems for the benefit of farmers.
