Rs 214cr released to Sahara depositors: Verma

Amidst Sahara investors’ protest against the central government, Union Minister of State for Cooperation B.L.Verma claimed that an amount of Rs 214 crore has been released to 2,33,742 depositors of cooperative societies linked to Sahara Group.

Verma said this while addressing the Sahakar Bharati’s National Conference on Credit Cooperatives on Saturday at ICAR, Pusa, New Delhi.

 “In a bid to help the Sahara investors, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah launched ‘CRCS Sahara Refund Portal’ for disbursal of legitimate dues of the genuine depositors of cooperative societies of the Sahara Group”, he added.

The Union Minister of State for Cooperation further said the 44,000 Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society (PACS) have been onboarded on the Common Service Centres (CSC) and 10,000th Jan Aushadhi Kendra launched by the Prime Minister out of which , 2,000 are operated by PACS.

On this occasion, Verma highlighted the achievements of the Union Ministry of Cooperation and recounted the efforts of the MoC in general and Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah in particular in strengthening the cooperative movement of India.
