Stressing that IFFCO may not formally operate under a CSR framework but has a deeply human face and genuine concern for its employees and members, Chairman Dileep Sanghani informed the AGM that the Board has decided that no employee at the lowest rung of the hierarchy will receive less than Rs 20,000 as take-home salary.

“I keep asking about employees’ salaries whenever I visit IFFCO offices across the country and was baffled to realize that some of them were getting a pittance. When I raised the matter before the Board, I received overwhelming support and we decided to fix the minimum take-home salary at Rs 20,000,” said Sanghani.

Later, Sanghani tweeted, “In a significant decision reflecting our commitment to the interests of IFFCO employees, the minimum wage has been fixed at Rs 20,000. With a special provision of Rs 140 crore for employee welfare, the minimum wage has been increased.”

He further wrote, “Guided by the spirit of cooperation, we remain firmly committed to the prosperity and dignity of farmers as well as employee families.”
