Allegations have emerged over recent appointments in the Khandwa District Central Cooperative Bank, with the Congress claiming that ineligible employees were promoted in violation of service rules, media reports say.
Congress district president Uttampal Singh submitted a written complaint to the Khandwa collector, addressed to the chief minister, questioning the credibility of the selection committee and seeking a high-level probe.
The controversy centres on recruitment to Society Manager posts. Of 92 applicants, only 10 were declared eligible this year, compared to 56 in 2023. Congress alleged that qualified candidates were ignored while favoured but ineligible staff were regularised.
A list of 24 employees was cleared as managers on seniority after a December 30, 2025 meeting. Singh further alleged irregular promotions between 2005 and 2013, bypassing service rules, and demanded a transparent inquiry. The administration’s response is awaited.
