The Centre has completed integration of Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) office digitisation with the National Cooperative Database in five States/UTs, Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah informed the Rajya Sabha.
In a written reply, the Minister said the scheme does not envisage a centralized digital platform. Instead, States and UTs are developing their own RCS portals in line with respective Cooperative Acts, which are being integrated with the National Cooperative Database.
The project has been completed in Rajasthan, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, including full NCD integration, while work is currently underway in 30 States/UTs. Kerala has not opted for the project.
The Centre has allocated Rs 82.85 crore for the initiative, out of which Rs 26.82 crore has been released. Around Rs 15.20 crore has been utilized by States/UTs for hardware, software and implementation-related activities.
The integration is aimed at strengthening digital governance and enhancing data accessibility across the cooperative sector.
