RBI workers union general secretary Samir Ghosh has sent a letter asking the govt. of India to abolish the dual control of cooperative banks by the registrar of cooperative societies and the apex bank, reports Business Standard.
The workers body suggests RBI alone should have regulatory powers over cooperative banks.
Earlier in the 80, the employees’ association had made similar suggestions.
