RBI increases gold loan limit

Now cooperative banks can advance gold loans upto two lakh rupees under bullet repayment. Earlier this was limited upto one lakh only.

The RBI has said the loan period should not exceed twelve months. There will be interest on it every month but this will have to be paid at the end of the loan period.

However, the amount of both loan and interest should not exceed 75 percent of gold prices.
