RBI holds TAFCUB meeting in J&K

RBI, Jammu recently conducted the 23rd meeting of the Task Force on Co-operative Urban Banks (TAFCUB) for J&K at its Jammu Regional Office, reports a news outlet.

Thomas Mathew, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, (J&K), presided over the meeting. Several cooperative and urban co-op bank functionaries attended the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Mathew, underscored the importance of KYC and CICs for co-operative banks as also spoke highly of the role played by the TAFCUB in tackling the issues of the Cooperative sector.

Several cooperative functionaries including Subhash Gupta, CEO, NAFCUB spoke on the occasion stressing on the importance of NPA management and urging the UCBs to form a Board approved technical write-off policy for the bank.

The meeting also reviewed the financial performance of the four UCBs in the preceding quarter, among other things.
