Uttarakhand’s leading Almora Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd. has received approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to launch mobile banking services, marking a significant milestone in its digital transformation journey. The approval has been granted in recognition of the bank’s strong financial position, transparent operations, sound governance standards, and secure IT infrastructure.

Headquartered at Lala Bazaar in Almora, the bank is regarded as one of the largest urban cooperative banks in North India. With the regulatory clearance in place, the mobile banking facility is expected to be rolled out for customers shortly, offering greater convenience and seamless access to banking services.

The Board of Directors, management, staff, and customers have expressed their gratitude to the RBI for its trust and support. Chairman CA Mahesh Chandra Joshi, Managing Director & CEO P.C. Tiwari, and Vice Chairperson Dr. Vasudha Pant welcomed the development as a major step toward enhanced customer convenience and digital empowerment.
