The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the voluntary amalgamation of the Bapunagar Mahila Co-operative Bank Ltd. with Shri Vinayak Sahakari Bank Ltd. in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The approval has been granted under the provisions of Section 44A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949. As per the sanctioned Scheme of Amalgamation, it will come into effect from March 27, 2026 (Friday).
Following the merger, all branches of the Bapunagar Mahila Co-operative Bank Ltd. will operate as branches of Shri Vinayak Sahakari Bank Ltd. from the effective date, marking a step towards consolidation in the cooperative banking sector.
