Rawat instructs on co-op elections, PACS Secretary appointments

Uttarakhand Cooperation Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat chaired a departmental review meeting on Tuesday at the Assembly complex, issuing several key directives aimed at strengthening the cooperative sector across the state.

Dr. Rawat instructed officials to ensure 100% computerisation of all PACS committees, emphasising that digitisation is essential for transparency, accountability, and faster service delivery. He also directed the department to expand the Madhosingh Bhandari Cooperative Collective Farming Scheme, enabling the conversion of barren land into cultivable fields and ensuring greater benefits for local farmers.

Reviewing the status of cooperative society elections and the appointment of PACS secretaries, the Minister urged officials to expedite all pending processes to improve the functioning of cooperative institutions.

In view of the International Year of Cooperatives, Rawat asked officials to ensure the successful organisation of upcoming cooperative fairs and to intensify outreach efforts to connect the public with the cooperative movement.

He reaffirmed that the cooperative sector must work with renewed dedication to support farmers and further strengthen grassroots cooperative institutions across Uttarakhand.
