The Government of Rajasthan has undertaken a significant administrative reshuffle, reinforcing its focus on strengthening the cooperative sector. As part of this move, Dr. Samit Sharma has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Cooperative Department.
In addition to this key role, Dr. Sharma has also been given charge as Registrar, Cooperative Department, and Administrator of RAJFED, placing him at the helm of cooperative governance in the state. The appointment order was issued on Thursday.
A 2004-batch IAS officer with an All India Rank of 68 in the 2003 UPSC examination, Dr. Sharma holds M.B.B.S. and M.D. degrees. He brings extensive administrative experience, having served across key sectors including health, social justice, urban development, and public administration. Prior to this, he was serving as Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Gopalan Department.
Meanwhile, Anandi, who was earlier serving as Secretary and Registrar of the Cooperative Department, has been appointed as Commissioner of the Commercial Taxes Department, Rajasthan.
